We're all about people

Our people, customers and community remain at the heart of everything we do. As we have grown from 10 employees in one small location, to a company with a full range of workplace technologies and expertise, our original values and ethics still drive the way we do business.

From the beginning our goal was to be ethical and honest, only providing what was best for the customer, giving them the best service, and working with our customers for years.

We always knew that the way we treated and looked after our people would be critical to delivering this great customer experience. We need happy employees who remain committed to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

Supporting our local community is also really important to us. All our employees are encouraged to make a contribution to their communities with many of our activities focused on helping children and young people. Find out more about our work in the community here.

Creating a business surrounded by really good people is my proudest achievement.

Arena Group milestones

We want to shout about our story! So, take a look at our timeline which shows the milestones which we are most proud of.
1991

The start of Arena

Arena Group was officially formed on 1st October 1991 by six friends who wanted to prove that there was a better way of working within the photocopier industry, by putting customer service first. Five of them have since retired but one is still in the business, our Managing Director Adrian Fitzpatrick.

1994

Apprentice Academy

Since 1994 Arena has run its own award-winning Apprentice Academy that trains service engineers. Approximately 50% of our current team of highly-skilled technicians have progressed through the scheme and into our service department in the field.

1996

Our home

In 1996 we moved into our home, Armitage House in Wakefield. We're still here now and don't plan on leaving anytime soon! Our head office operations, helpdesk and software teams are based at Armitage House, but we now also have offices to extend our reach across the UK, plus our distribution and training centre in Garforth.
1999

Acquisition after acquisition

The strategy behind our growth is organic and through acquisitions of likeminded businesses. We acquired our first business, COS UK Limited, in 1999 and have since acquired 7 others.
2006

The arrival of mstore

We acquired Mitral Systems Ltd in 2006 who originally developed our electronic document management software, mstore. This created the perfect platform for Arena to move away from simply selling and servicing photocopiers to providing bespoke document management solutions for our customers.
2006

Award winning business

2006 was a momentous year for Arena. We appeared in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work for list, won the National Chamber of Commerce award for Excellence in People Development and won Yorkshire's Best Company To Work For!
2007

CSR community projects

In 2007 we launched our corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme which encourages all employees to volunteer two days annually to help with charitable community projects.
2010

Run For All partnership

In 2010 Arena began sponsoring the Run for All mini, junior and family runs, enabling young people to participate for free. These runs form part of the lasting legacy of the late inspirational Jane Tomlinson CBE, who founded the charity road race in 2007.
2016

Cementing service excellence

In 2016 we launched our Total Satisfaction Methodology (TSM), a unique method designed and built in collaboration with our clients which now frames everyday actions of all Arena employees. TSM builds on the values upon which this business was successfully founded over 25 years ago - service excellence really is in our DNA.
2016

Record fundraising

In 2016 we celebrated our 25th anniversary and set an ambitious target of raising £25,000 for local hospices to celebrate. This target was smashed with the final total raised being over £32,000 thanks to the commitment of Arena people and the support of colleagues, families, suppliers, partners and friends.
2016

The Arena family grows

Arena acquired Docucentric Holdings Ltd, which included B2 Business Systems, in 2016 to expand our footprint across Wales. The B2 team has played a key role in driving growth and expanding the range of workplace technologies available for local customers in that region.

2020

Powered by Xerox

In January 2020 we were acquired by Xerox to expand their presence in the SMB Market. By becoming a Xerox company, we can now offer the best of both worlds - the backing of a longstanding, innovative, technology leader with the familiar feel and independent advice of a local company.
