Arena in the Community
When Arena was established over 28 years ago, our people, our customers and our communities were at the heart of the founders' vision for a successful business. That is why our corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme contributes the time and skills of our volunteers towards community and charity projects, and we actively support key community-based initiatives. We even have a mascot, Arena Owl, who goes out to support our activities and to champion our values.
Some of the ways we help:
- We're upping our contribution to community in 2020 by supporting Community Integrated Care as our charity partner.
- Employees voted to support the Yorkshire, North West and Lincs & Notts air ambulances as our charities of the year for fundraising in 2019.
- Our employees are encouraged to spend two annual working days supporting local charity and community projects.
- Arena is the primary sponsor of the Jane Tomlinson Arena Group Fun Runs now open to all ages in various cities, paying entry fees for young people to ensure background is never a barrier to taking part.
- Our directors and employees have helped with a variety of projects from supporting schools in delivering enterprise projects to hosting charity events, taking on tough challenges such as the Wharfedale Ton and clearing up urban areas.
- We support local community initiatives such as Child-Friendly Leeds, Leeds Community Foundation and One in a Million
- We match fund our employees’ charity fundraising efforts.
- We raised over £32,000 in our 25th anniversary fundraising challenge for local hospices.
We were recently recognised for our efforts in creating a positive social impact as winners in the Chamber of Commerce Raising the Bar Awards.
