mstore in car dealerships hits 1 millionth digital file

A recent survey has revealed that by the end of 2020, dealerships using the mstore digital platform will have managed their one millionth file digitally. This figure reflects the number of dealfiles or work in progress (WiP) packs managed in mstore since the platform first went live in a Looker’s dealership in 2008. mstore can now offer up to 100% paperless operations dealership-wide.
With each dealfile or WiP pack containing multiple sheets, the analysis calculated that 11 million documents have been digitised using mstore. That’s over 26 million pages that have been managed in dealfiles and aftermarket WiP packs alone, with more being processed and archived digitally in HR, finance, affinity and rental operations across the 22 mstore customers ranging from independents to top 10 dealership groups.
That has delivered multiple benefits for dealerships, as well as the environment, with a over 52,000 reams of paper have been saved that would have cost £130,000 or 3121 trees!
“This is a milestone in the history of retail with dealerships increasingly embracing digital ways of working, transforming outdated paper-based processes with more efficient electronic workflows driven by increasing pressures on cashflow, regulation, manufacturer scrutiny and staffing costs,” explains Neil Maude, Director of Technology for Arena Group.
"By working closely with retailers and manufacturers, mstore’s UK-based software team have been able to adjust the product roadmap to launch new developments led by emerging requirements, from same day car sales by cutting out needless transportation of paperwork between sites, to digital signatures to improve customer experience, and an agile electronic job card system that adapts to workshop demands and increases throughput.”
At the time of the survey at the end of 2020, mstore was installed in 634 dealerships across sales, aftersales, affinity, rentals and other operations. That’s over 3,000 people using the platform for administration, sales, compliance, service, warranty, rental, HR and other operations to help retailers perform more efficiently.
Across all dealerships surveyed, an average of 5.9 days were saved retrieving deal files in the month of August by mstore users in sales admin alone. Another 6.2 days on average per dealership was saved physically looking through a file to find a document. An additional 1.7 days were saved accessing archived documents, assuming the archive was accessible within 5 minutes. This number is expected to be far higher for archives that are less accessible off-site, or where, as many dealership report to be a frequent issue, there are missing documents or misfiling has occurred.
